We are blessed to live in the amazing state of Utah, and part of what makes it so amazing is the burgeoning tech industry. At the recent Silicon Slopes Tech Summit, almost 15,000 techies congregated at the Salt Palace to learn about and celebrate the strength of the industry here.
As I listened to talks and forums, I felt inspired to try to make a difference in our community by giving the homeless in our state a chance to get back on their feet and tap into the huge opportunities that exist in this market as skilled coders.
Code Shelter is the way I plan to make that difference, by partnering with local companies, foundations, colleges, and individuals to create pathways for the homeless to learn valuable skills.
If you want to help, either through time, information, or donations, please reach out and get involved. We can make a difference together.
